Bath
Built for pleasure and relaxation, beautiful Bath has been a wellbeing destination since Roman times. The waters are still a big draw, both at the ancient Roman Baths and the thoroughly modern Thermae Bath Spa, which houses the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain you can bathe in. Bath's stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture is straight from a Jane Austen novel - highlights include the iconic Royal Crescent and the majestic Circus. Bath’s compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain.
Tyntesfield (NT)
An ornate Victorian Gothic Revival house with extensive garden and parkland, Tyntesfield was not intended to be an extravagant statement of wealth, power or politics. Its purpose was simple: to serve as a family home. Originally a smaller Georgian house, Tyntesfield was transformed into a Gothic Revival masterpiece. Its bespoke architecture reflects the devout Anglo-Catholic beliefs of the Gibbs Family. Here they invested their wealth derived from controlling the import of Peruvian ‘guano’ fertiliser.
Lanes of Somerset
A leisurely tour of the Somerset lanes via the Mendips to the attractive cathedral city of Wells and Glastonbury, renowned for its festival and Abbey, full of legends about King Arthur and the Holy Grail. Also, we visit Cheddar famous for its cheese and the spectacular gorge.
The Limpley Stoke Hotel is just a twenty-minute drive from the city of Bath and overlooks the spectacular Limpley Stoke Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. This traditional Georgian country house has a delightful village setting and offers individually designed en suite rooms, well equipped with flat screen TV, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities and a phone. PlEASE NOTE: Rooms are located on three floors and a lift offers access to the first two floors with stair access to all three. Due to the original architecture of the Georgian period property, all floors have varying levels and do require some access via steps/stairs.
